I have to admit- any outdoor wedding in Michigan, at any time of year, can quite possibly be disastrous as far as the weather goes. Add to that a beach wedding, on Lake Michigan, in the fall! When we arrived in St. Joseph, Michigan to begin coverage of Dan and Jaime's Lake Michigan beach wedding and the Veranda at the Whitcomb reception- it was drizzling and gray- and clouds everywhere. They had a back up plan- but Jaime just always wanted to get married on the beach, so we kept watch over the radar while they got all dolled up. As fate would have it- the skies began parting about a half hour before the ceremony- and the decision to go ahead with the beach wedding she had always wanted- and if it started raining again- we'd run! The ceremony had to have been my favorite part of the day because of Dan's reaction to seeing Jaime! I knew it wouldn't be an issue with these two to skip the Reveal, because Dan is completely unconcerned with showing his excitement whenever and wherever! And he did not disappoint! Jaime was absolutely stunning, so if he didn't react that way, there might be something wrong with him, but I may or may not have shed a few tears over these two! :) When Jaime told me their wedding colors were orange and sea foam green- I was a little concerned. Hhaha. But I had already seen some of Jaime's craftiness and decided it would be best to reserve my judgement until I saw the decor, and holy cow! She pulled it off- the colors are definitely not "popular" in the wedding world right now- but that was even more reason to love it! (And a break from all the blush lately!) We hit up quite a few spots for photos- the beach obviously, Silver Beach's Carousel, an awesome alley way across from the reception place, and we even used an abandoned run down pent house that is rumored to have been one of Al Capone's digs at one time! I seriously think it was the coolest fall lake wedding color scheme and decor that I've come across yet. The sea foam chucks kind of just put the cherry on top. If you only look at a few images- PLEASE stop at Dan's reaction to Jaime coming down the aisle. Every groom should be this excited to see his bride!
Dan waiting anxiously:
And as Jamie came over the hill and down the dune...
Dan's reaction is just priceless!
