I have to admit- blogging our photography sessions is not something that comes easily to me. It's definitely a labor of love! The hardest part for me is determining which images to share, because we can't possibly share them all and not completely bog down the whole interwebs. I want the images to scream what we saw and *hopefully* what our couples feel! The decision process gets complicated because people view things so differently. Something we might view as reflective might look sad to someone else. So that's why we often give these little background paragraphs and hopefully everyone else can see what we saw, and feel the love our couples feel. We met up with Kelly and Chris, on a sweltering July afternoon, on her grandparents horse farm, near Kalamazoo. You could see the mugginess just hanging in the air. It fell like a dead weight on everything. But it didn't deter us from shooting this summer farm engagement shoot just days before Kelly and Chris's wedding! (That post is next!) There was such a calm excitement, somehow, with these two together. Calm excitement is an actual thing. I know they are opposites- but they coexist, I swear. I've seen it. Maybe it could better be described as a content joy. Kelly grew up exploring this beautiful little farm, so it was a very natural place for their engagement session. We just loved the images we captured of these two and are happy to (finally) share a couple handfuls of our favorites!
